Jim’s Mac and Cheese
INGREDIENTS
- 1, 16 oz box elbow pasta
- 12 oz milk
- 1/4 stick butter
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
- 10 oz cheese, mostly sharp cheddar, shredded
- 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- Black pepper
- 4 Boars Head hot dogs or ham, diced in to 1/4 in pieces
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Get large pot boiling to cook pasta according to box directions.
- Mix milk, mustard or Worcestershire sauce in a measuring cup.
- Pour milk mixture into a saucepan on low heat and add butter and pepper.
- Once butter has melted, add cheese slowly, about 1/2 cup at a time until it dissolves in the liquid.
- Mix constantly as it melts, don’t let it boil.
- Drain pasta removing as much water as possible then put back in dried pot.
- Pour cheese sauce over noodles and add hot dog pieces, mix gently to cover all the pasta in sauce.
- Bake for 45 mins uncovered.
