Jim’s Mac and Cheese


INGREDIENTS

  • 1, 16 oz box elbow pasta
  • 12 oz milk
  • 1/4 stick butter
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 oz cheese, mostly sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Black pepper
  • 4 Boars Head hot dogs or ham, diced in to 1/4 in pieces

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Get large pot boiling to cook pasta according to box directions.
  3. Mix milk, mustard or Worcestershire sauce in a measuring cup.
  4. Pour milk mixture into a saucepan on low heat and add butter and pepper.
  5. Once butter has melted, add cheese slowly, about 1/2 cup at a time until it dissolves in the liquid.
  6. Mix constantly as it melts, don’t let it boil.
  7. Drain pasta removing as much water as possible then put back in dried pot.
  8. Pour cheese sauce over noodles and add hot dog pieces, mix gently to cover all the pasta in sauce.
  9. Bake for 45 mins uncovered.
