Imli Chutney (Tamarind sauce)


INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup Tamarind Paste
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (we use Jaggery, Indian sugar, non-distilled sugar cane)
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp, fennel seeds (Sauf)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan black salt
  • 1/4 tsp salt

DIRECTIONS

Place all ingredients in a sauce pot and simmer lightly for 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool before storing in an air tight container for up to 1 month.

Serve as a dipping sauce with samosa’s.
